I began making my own skincare products over 24 years ago and have never looked back. Over those years I have discovered what works and what doesn’t when it comes to making a good stable lotions and creams.
This course introduces you to the wonderful world of skin care. You’ll be able to make both lotions and creams to suit your personal needs.
If you get stuck, need more information or want to post a question or comment, you’ll find a students only conversation on the bottom of every page in the course. I’ll personally answer your questions.
We will work with thickeners, emulsifiers, emollients, preservatives, hydrosols and special ingredients that can make your formula extra unique.
Whether it’s for yourself, or a special person including the babies in your life, you will never need to buy another chemical filled “natural” cream or lotion again.
You will know every ingredient that is going into your creation and you will know why it is in there.
A good lotion can change your skin for the better.
All the ingredients we use are natural and have a specific purpose for your lotion!
Lip balm made without petroleum ingredients are difficult to find. You will be making your very own with natural ingredients. You can choose from either vegan wax or beeswax.
The foot balm is extra soothing and skin softening. You can choose essential oils that are perfect for fighting fungus and bacteria.
What you'll learn
Who this course is for
Here are just a few things you'll learn
This foot lotion is made with rich oils and has the added benefit of menthyl crystals and tea tree oil. It’s tingly and antibacterial. Perfect for your tired feet.
Vegan Lip Balm
Though bees wax is a very popular wax to use in lip balm, it is not a vegan product since it comes from bees.
Making lotion opens up so many doors for using amazing ingredients. Making the lotion to suit anyones skin care needs is the goal. This is a fantastic recipe that can be altered to fit your preferences.
Meet The Teacher
I’m Rene Whitlock.
I’m the founder of Soap Making School.
We are going on to our 12th year on line and the program has grown faster than I dreamed.
Soap Making is my passion. since I began in 1997.
I’ve been teaching for a good chunk of that time, starting with friends and other Soap Makers.
I’ve been teaching larger groups for over 23 years. It’s been a blast and it has inspired me to make videos showing what I teach in my live classes. My curious nature has allowed me to push myself into experimenting with many soap making methods that I’ve not seen before.
I like to look for a more logical simplified method for making soap. If I can’t find one then I will invent one. If it works out, it becomes the new method that I use and over time it becomes the norm.
I spent a big chunk of my time during my learning process asking the question why. Why would someone want to complicate something that can be simple? We support Palm oil free soap making and sponsor orphaned Orangutans through Orangutan Foundation International
Hope to see you in the class!
